Haven’t had time lately to get much done on Project Sublime, but I have decided to switch to a TH350 transmission instead of the 4L60E trans. The deciding factor was I wasn’t willing to dump 1,800 in to it to make it stout enough down the road when the new engine is built. For now the Th350 will be more than up to the task with a few minor upgrades, and in the future once the power steps up, I will switch it out for a TH400.
This was my previous project: Project LT10. A 1996 Chevrolet S10 regular cab pickup, it was originally a 2.2liter four cylinder five speed truck. It was replaced with a 350LT1 and a TH350 transmission (with a 3,000 stall and a TCI race kit). Fuel was controlled via a MS2.2Extra setup and spark was delivered via a EDIS8 DIS conversion using GM coils. The suspension was lowered 5″ in the rear and 4″ in the front. Read more
Having an issue with this low spot where I welded the antenna hole shut in the fender. I have tried filling it twice, but each time I block it, the filler is completely removed. Pardon the scratches, I only had a piece of 320 grit handy. After getting some advice, I am going to try lightly hammering the plug down, dimpling the area to give the filler more room. I also will be switching to a better round block. Read more
This is my power steering pump, it is mounted to the front of the drivers cylinder head. It is a late model GM pump (used on about everything since the early 90’s. I am currently trying to track down a flat V belt pulley for this pump, it was never equipped with one from the factory on any GM vehicle, so this hasn’t been an easy task, however I believe I have found a solution. Moroso part#64860 is a flat V belt style pulley, which will work I believe. It requires a remotely mounted reservoir, but that isn’t an issue since I will be running one already. Read more
